We discussed potential fundraiser options for the year. We decided that we would like to sell cookies, and other items (empanadas, churros, and more!) to benefit the Cookies for Kids Cancer organization. The organization provides money for pediatric cancer research.
We also discussed some ideas for potential field trips to Raleigh for festivals, as well as an international movie night here at school. We also discussed our club t-shirt, and the colors decided on were purple with yellow letters. The members wanted to incorporate the fact that we have native Spanish speakers and native English speakers so it was decided to refer to our club as "Spanglish" club on the t-shirt. The preliminary design has the name of the club and a "raider" (our mascot) wearing a sombrero.
Our next meeting will be held Thursday, October 7th.
The deadline for turning in money, is Wednesday, September 22 to Ms. D in room 240.
